Talks & Seminars

Conducted by our team of experts, and open for guest presenters and professionals working in the industry nationally and internationally. Talks will be generally based on sustainability, the environment, composting, food waste systems, food security, and solutions climate change.

Practical Workshops

Interactive public workshops designed to engage and educate the general members of the general public. The workshops are designed to teach about food waste, composting, food growing, soil and plant nurture.

E-Learning

Structured online learning program for developing knowledge and training in food and food waste systems, soil ecology and sustainable urban agriculture. Classes are lead by the WastePlant team and other industry experts.


School Excursions

Show-and-tell activities and workshops to educate school students of all ages about waste, food, soil and worms. We will be planting seedlings and educating students on all of the wonderful things that can be discovered in the garden lanes.

University Academics

An open collaboration with University and Post-Grad students, who are undertaking studies related to sustainability, waste, soil and food systems. WastePlant is a resource for those conducting research and looking to gain practical information and experience to support their learning pathway.

School Integration

Given that WastePlant is a working laboratory and food waste processing facility, it is also a perfect space for ongoing curriculum-based learning for food and waste systems. We would love to speak with you about integration with your educational body.


Eco-Tourism Excursions

The facility is a drawcard for wholesome local and international tourism. A beautiful showcase of a working circular economy system within a local community. WastePlant is open for group and individual tours through the facilities, seedling workshops, interactive gardening and composting workshops.

Film Nights

Showings of future-minded documentaries and films focusing on sustainability, the environment, food waste streams, composting, soil regeneration and urban farming. Film nights are purposed to be drawcard for within the surrounding community—young and old.

Friends of WastePlant

Training workshops for people who are volunteering their services, to establish and expand their knowledge of food systems, food waste systems, and soil ecology.
